Infrared sauna therapy is a truly holistic way to help the body heal. It is inexpensive, safe and is strong enough to handle the many health problems that plague people in these times. Infrared sauna therapy is a detoxification and healing process. It can be used for a wide variety of conditions that afflict people in today’s society.

This therapy has actually been around for a long time. Close to a hundred years ago, using small light bulbs, these units were used to help remove toxins from the body, and were known to do it faster than a traditional sauna. Infrared lamp sauna therapy is very inexpensive and very safe. It is one of the easiest ways to eliminate toxic chemicals and metals from the body as well as treating chronic infections.

It can be used to help rejuvenate the skin. Using sauna therapy helps to restore elimination. Your skin is actually the largest organ in your body and for most people it is congested, inactive and toxic. Any number of things contributes to this problem, such as exposure to the sun, using chlorinated water to bath, and numerous chemicals that the skin is exposed to on a daily basis. Infrared sauna therapy can help to bring your skin back into its natural balance.

Infrared sauna therapy is used to encourage sweating. This process safely helps your body to eliminate toxins and results, to some extent, in taking this task away from the liver and kidneys thereby releasing the strain on these organs.

It’s important to be supervised. Anyone with any type of medical condition should have an attendant or companion nearby in order to monitor you while undergoing this treatment. In removing toxins or drugs from your skin you can cause drug effects similar to what you felt when you used the drug, although in a very limited and temporary way.

It is also wise when using a dry infrared sauna to start off slowly, maybe 15 minutes a day for the first week and then gradually build up your time to thirty or forty minutes a day. You know your body better than anyone and you will know when it’s time to increase your limits.

It is also important to rest after any session for approximately 15-20 minutes. Taking a shower and relaxing after a session is a way to let your body readjust itself. It’s also recommended that you use this therapy first thing in the morning to get your day started, or in the late evening to help your body after a stressful day. Because your body is more relaxed at these times the results will be far more beneficial to you.

It is also recommended that you use infrared sauna therapy twice a week to start, and then you can gradually work up to using it twice a day if you choose. It is also wise to let your doctor know that you are using this treatment as he may adjust your medications according to the results you are getting from the therapy. Needless to say this is not recommended for children or for women who are pregnant. Any child over 5 years of age should always be accompanied by an adult for proper supervision.
